About the OSU Institutional Review Board

Oklahoma State University (OSU) is committed to and guided by the ethical principles regarding all research involving human subjects as set forth in the report of the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research entitled, Ethical Principles and Guidelines for the Protection of Human Subjects of Research, often referred to as the Belmont Report.

This web site is provided by the Office of Research Compliance to assist OSU faculty, staff and students involved in research using human subjects in meeting the basic requirements and procedures that arise from these ethical principles and the resulting regulations.

All human subject research activities conducted by OSU faculty, staff or students must be reviewed and approved by the OSU Institutional Review Board (IRB). Through the information provided by this site and the Handbook for the Protection of Human Subjects in Research, we strive to provide effective and efficient service to the OSU research community.

We look forward to working with each of you. If you have any questions, please contact our office at 405-744-1676 or come by 219 Cordell North. We welcome your comments regarding this website. Please direct them to Beth McTernan at beth.mcternan@okstate.edu.
